Web Design Company in New York City

Sites built to convert visitors and rank in search. Engineered, not just designed. Most agencies deliver one or the other.

Beautiful sites that do not work

The typical agency website project produces something that looks excellent in a portfolio and performs badly in reality. A 6MB hero video, a JavaScript framework rendering a five-page brochure site, a slider nobody clicks past, and a contact form buried three scrolls down.

It launches. Traffic does not rise. Leads do not rise. Nobody can say why, because design was scoped separately from performance and both were scoped separately from search.

We build sites as engineering projects with design as a requirement rather than the other way round.

What we fix

Your site is slowUnoptimized images, render-blocking scripts, bloated page builders, third-party tag debt. Google penalizes it and visitors leave before it paints. We set a performance budget before design begins, then deliver modern image pipelines, critical CSS, deferred non-essential JavaScript, and a minimal third-party footprint. We target Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds on mobile 4G.
You get traffic and no leadsNo clear next action, weak calls to action, forms asking for too much, no trust signals, mobile as an afterthought. We build conversion-focused information architecture: one primary action per page, forms scoped to the minimum viable ask, proof placed where decisions happen, mobile designed first.
The build fights your SEOPage builders emitting div soup, headings used for styling, content injected client-side, no structured data, URLs that change on every edit. We ship semantic HTML, correct heading hierarchy, server-rendered content, schema in the template layer, and a stable URL structure planned before build.
You cannot update it yourselfEvery text change requires a developer and a two-week wait. Every build ships with a properly configured CMS, documentation, and a training session. You should not need us for a phone number change.
It does not work for everyoneLow contrast, no keyboard navigation, missing alt text, unlabeled form fields. Beyond excluding customers, this is real ADA litigation exposure and NYC businesses are a frequent target. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA as a standard, not an add-on.

Migrating an existing site

Redirect mapping is where most rebuilds lose their rankings. Every URL is mapped and tested before cutover. We have seen more traffic lost to bad migrations than to any algorithm update.

Before you judge a migration by the report, note that averaged Search Console positions routinely disagree with what searchers actually see.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost in NYC?

Cost depends on page count, whether the design is custom, and how many integrations are involved. We quote a fixed project price after a discovery call. Below a certain budget you are buying a template with your logo on it, which is occasionally the right call, and we will say so if it is.

How long does it take?

Four to six weeks for Essential, six to ten for Growth, twelve or more for Custom. The main variable is how fast content and feedback come back from your side.

Do you use WordPress or something else?

It depends on the job. WordPress when you need flexible content management. Webflow for design-heavy marketing sites with a small team. Next.js when performance or application logic dominates. Shopify for commerce. We recommend based on your requirements rather than our preference.

Will I be able to edit it myself?

Yes. Every build ships with a configured CMS, documentation, and training. You should never need us for routine content changes.

What happens to my rankings when the site changes?

Handled properly they hold or improve. Handled badly you can lose most of your traffic. Full redirect mapping, URL preservation where sensible, and post-launch monitoring are standard in every project.

Do you do e-commerce?

Yes, on Shopify or WooCommerce. Complex custom commerce falls under software development.

Can you just fix my existing site instead?

Often, and it is usually cheaper. The audit tells us whether the foundation is worth building on. We will not sell you a rebuild you do not need.

Real client result

Google Lighthouse audit before and after: Performance improved from 73 to 95, with Accessibility 100, Best Practices 96 and SEO 92 held steady.

Mobile Lighthouse performance, before and after: 73 to 95. WebP conversion, unused CSS removed, unused JavaScript removed. Client anonymised.

What we build against

Core Web Vitals are measured from real visitors, not lab tests. These are the thresholds every build has to clear.

Which of the three actually moves rankings, and which are noise worth ignoring, is covered in Core Web Vitals in 2026.

Chart of Google Core Web Vitals thresholds: LCP good under 2.5 seconds, INP good under 200 milliseconds, CLS good under 0.1, with needs improvement and poor bands beyond.

A site passes when 75 percent of real visits fall in the good band.

We will run your site through Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and conversion review, and tell you whether it needs a rebuild or a repair.
